We are now a featured site on Nibbits.com along with having a new project bit over there!

Hey folks, you might notice we have some new affiliates.
Also ive updated some of the site pages (FAQ, Credits, Gameplay) to reflect the new version of ROTG.
Also you may note that ive retired ROTG Lite, its simply too far behind the full version and cannto incorperate all the new features without increasing the filesize which defeats the lite versions purpose.

Hey guys, ive applied a minor hotfix that should address the AI freezing issues, hope this helps.
Changelog:
Titan Cinematics are now disabled by default in templay mode.
Ai will no longer attempt to flee if badly injured in the end boss room.
Dark Rider's Curse of Doom now correctly requires level 6.
Ai will no longer stop responding after a Titan Cinematic.
When being teleported into the final boss duel custom camera heights will now be respected and re-applied.

AI freezing |

I have identified one cause of the ai freezes and its related to the titan cinematics.
A temporary solution is to disable them, or if teh ai freezes go into the menu ("Z"), disable it then renable it. This should get it working again with 3 or 4 seconds or so.
Soon i'll do a hotfix version that addresses this and some other minor problems.
Any suggestions let me know.

Hey guys, quite a few people have reported issues with the AI freezing but as of yet have not provided many details on what may cause it, it seems to be random but only present in the teamplay mode.
Today I found some intresting news on THW regarding a bnet hack that was around lately:
"The crash worked by abusing the finite stack size that the WC3 main thread had. Many people who map WC3 probably have noticed how triggers can only execute so much code in one batch before the execution stops whether or not the end of the code was reached. Getting too many operations to run at once will result in WC3 hitting its stack size limit and so prevent any further execution of actions.
The glitch that the hackers used to crash players was simply getting a unit to execute an order with a non positional exit and then que up approximately 10000 invalid build orders which will collapse instantly and so hit the... [Read More]

Hey folks, the new version of ROTG (The first ever with AI) is ready! You can get it now off the latest map page. Hope you enjoy, changelog follows below, any questions about the AI just ask.
ROTG 1.70 Changelog
--FEATURES--
Artificial Intelligence has now been included allowing for solo games of ROTG!
Any combo can now be done including:
4 AI vs 4 AI
1 Human, 3 AI vs 1 Human, 3 AI
2 Humans, 2 AI vs 4 AI
etc.
You can now play with any number of computer players that will function in both duel mode and teamplay mode. (Deathmatch)
The AI will take over from any leavers and itself can be taken over by watching referees.
The ability to turn the AI on and off for your team has been included for players who prefer to control leavers
themselves.

Hey folks,
I have created a working prototype for the AI in both duel mode and teamplay mode now and it does actually play both the games to a half-way acceptable level.
I am now moving into resolving the bugs, testing the systems, making it smarter and so on.
The problem is, the "smarter" you make the AI, the more code required, and the greater lag it will generate.
That said the AI at the moment is not exactly basic, it will not only buy items, but each hero has their favourites and the buying order is not fixed, 1 time a hero might buy a few mercs, a hammer and so on, another time it might buy a perminant item, or perhaps an upgrade for it(!)
The AI now also reacts to friends under attack, and to a limited extent, the Ritual game.

Hello everyone, thought i'd let you know im actively developing AI for ROTG.
This will mean you will be able to play games of ROTG in both teamplay and duelling mode solo with all computer players.
It will also mean the AI can take over from leavers in both modes.
Options will also exist to disable/enable the AI for your team if you prefer to manually control the leaver heroes and get their resources channeled to your human players instead.
This is obviously quite a major change and hopefully will come off. While not being as smart as human players ironically the AI actually plays better than humans in duel mode and at least it dosn't quit.
