The Ritual altar is one of the key place in ROTG. With The Ritual happening every 9 minute, which gives gold and lumber, with lumber being needed for good items, and can be hard to obtain easily, this Ritual holds the key to winning and losing. Often the game's outcome is decide on the first few Rituals, if one team had fallen behind too much on the first Ritual, and is unable to retake the altar by 2nd Ritual, they have already losed.
So with the Ritual being so important, here's how do you ensure you can control the altar.
1. One Use Items, they do play a big part of taking Ritual. I recommend quick healing item (for combat) if you have healer, and bring extra slow healing item (non-combat) if you have no healer. Also a few summon and screamer (in case the other team has many spellcaster).
2.Getting there. Preparing long before the Ritual helps a lot, since most likely you would need time to prepare your items and your teammate/you would always have to get delay because of this and that.
3. Laying down defense (only when you have trapper or heroes like him), placing you defense in the middle of the altar if it does not damage ally, place it on the entrance facing the other team's base if you affect ally. Also you might want to use some summon to scout outside of the altar (in case someone's planning to blast your brains out with long range nukes.)
4. In the very bad case the altar fallen into the wrong hands, you must try to retake it back as soon as you can. Since you have vision of the altar during rituals.Fire your nukes (best if AOS ones), and since the other team is all on the altar greedy sucking up $$, they will most likely not try to move ( as there's really very little room to move unless someone stop sucking up $$), and you would most likely murder half of the team with nukes.
4.5 (Use this when you have no nuke and can't overpower the other team)
Another way is to suicide bomb the other team with the altar teleport from your main base, get the item "Heart of Woe" and give it to the most useless member of the team or demon with it's ult which is another suicide spell when point blank cast (and make sure you tell them "it's for the team, your name shall be forever remember in the book of......blah blah blah" )
5. After controlling the altar for once, you need to ensure you can always control it, start killing member of the other team whenever it's close to the ritual, use whatever way to delay, stop the other team from retaking it. And make sure they don't nuke/bomb your team.
Fail Number ??. In the really bad case you can't take the altar, try to creep and kill titan in peace, make use of the rare time when the other team leaves you alone. (Since if they can kill you on the altar, they can kill you during creeping)
Epic Fail Number ??. If you can't even kill titan since you really sucks hard, try to beg the other team to share the altar, continues to act weak till you have enough to over power the other team/kill the main boss.
