DeathClown's Guide to the Court Wizard

Strength: 14 + 1,4
Agility: 16 + 2,1
Intelligence: 20 + 2,4
Movement Speed: 320
Classification: Non-Undead

Analysis: Your main attribute is intelligence. This have nearly nothing to say with your playstyle, as your emphasis is not on damage, but on survivability and teamwork. Your HP starts at 366, which is quite low. Priorities are High HP pool, and then high Armour. Last is a mediocre mana pool for casting spells. Your strength is lacking, and your intelligence is good, the Court Wizard is a weak support, but it can be changed.

Skills
The Court Wizard have four simple spells, I will not get into details with them, because they are very simple at their cores.

Polymorph!
Polymorph is your 'Main' ability, and should be your first priority when skilling. It allows you to disable a player for up to 5 seconds. This is good for taking out runners and channeling spells. In most cases, this is the 1st Priority.

Teleportation!
Teleportation is used to teleport either from the battle, or to the battle. In a 1v1 fight it's one of the best ways to escape, in combo with Polymorph. Low priority, but one level is adviced to take. High Manacost, make sure to watch your manapool.

Illusion Mastery!
This is your secondary support ability. Illusion Mastery creates a weak copy of the friendly target. It can also be targetted at yourself. It has three purposes. One is to mislead the enemy, second is to overwhelm the foe in numbers, and the third purpose is basicly to stack damage. Medium Priority. You have to control your use of Illusions, as they have high manacost, low cooldown and high duration. Some will find it appealing to keep like three active all the time, but this will consume most of your mana, and it might ruin your opportunities.

Meteor!
This is the one reason that the court wizard is actually more than a support. High cooldown makes this an patience skill. Use it when you can in combination with Gladiator's Net. The Meteor will create an advantage to your team in a team battle. Use Gladiator's Net on an opponement, and make an headshot with the Meteor. Very High manacost, but also very high priority. Meteor is the reason of why you have to watch your mana constantly. It also hurts your teammates and yourself, so be careful. Gladiator's Net is most efficient as it keeps your opponement compleatly still, with Polymorph the enemy can still move around. So, Net -> Meteor -> Polymorph = Kill. Use the polymorph after the meteor to make sure the enemy gets killed.

Summary!
As you might read, Court Wizard is a support who has a huge arsenal of weapons, things that can easily turn the tide in your favour. It's all about patience. Use your knowledge of your skills, and the knowledge of general WC3, to win the battle. The basic mindset is that you keep low until Meteor is off cooldown, and then you take the kill. Patience is a virtue.

What to use Skill Points on!
It all depends on what you're meeting. Teleport is useless if your enemy have lots of stun and channeling disablement. Polymorph and Illusions can be dispelled. It all depends on what you're fighting. Every player must find his\hers own playstyle. If you think about what you're meeting, you will also find out what skills to skill.

Doing your Thing!
Items!
What I do about Items is quite simple. I don't really like taking chances and stuffs. You will probably look at this as bland, but it is among the most efficient items you can go.

Ring of Health -> Dawnstone with Health Enchantment. This will keep your HP mediocre, it will not make up for stupid play though.
Armour of Endurance. This is a 5 Armour buff. From here you got two options, one is additional armour, the +3 one, and getting magic resistance on it. It all depends on what you meet. Against shadowmancer and such heroes it's vital to go magic resistance.
Claymore with Damage Enchantment. This is 31 damage with a 15% speed penalty. You can get fancy stuffs like slow and frost, but in raw power, this is possibly the highest damaging weapon for the price. Claymore comes for 850 Gold. You already is using Polymorph and Gladiator's Net to disable, so why should you need more?
Boots of Speed -> Boots of Water Walking. I'm not gonna explain these, but they are for escaping and chasing, really sweet.

Consumables!
Consumables play a big part of your game. It's investment that will only be worth it if you use them right.
1. Healing Potions.
2. Gladiator's Net.
These two items are vital to the Court Wizards play. Use these smart and you will win.

I also like to use 'The Black Hand', it's a strong summon, but can be kept in inventory for an extra 12 damage. You can also get two of it, the damage bonus does stack, but each item takes a slot.

Mercenaries!
Use these, buy them and use, they will be worth it. If you're a bit behind in levels, get a few footmen and start killing creeps. Get a few quick levels and you're back into the game. Even if it's late game and you feel you're strong enough, keep using mercenaries.

Things to keep watch on.
There's a sandwich list on things you should keep eyes on, and here it is.
1. Minimap and Enemy Heroes, keep track of them, their health, their items and their movements. Plan easy kills.
2. Play Smart. Pay attention to 1. when you play, in offense and while running, you might wanna know which paths to take and where your enemies are coming. Keep track of Minimap!
3. Keep track on your teammates. Plan with them, to play good RoTG you have to be aware of your teams capabilities vs. your enemies capabilities. Then you can use consumables to counter their strengths.
4. Keep alive, if you're good at all 3 points above, you will have the knowledge to avoid getting killed. Every death doubles the enemy strength. It's about killing and not dying.

About Guides and RoTG
RoTG is all about flexibility, it's about knowing what and when. Guides are not the Bible, but rather guidelines and frameworks for players to evolve the game. Us guidewriters, at least me, have not experienced every scenario, or hardly any tough scenarios at all.

There is always room for suggestions, and room to grow. RoTG is a new map which still has a lot of potential. There is always something your opponements forgets. Expand from the guide and take RoTG to the next level. Playing RoTG perfectly would need a thousand pages to be properly documented.
