"Uriel Hellblade"
Hell Knight
By Aixu

-In advance, sorry Steel for making Hell Knight into something different than your guide, I just like him this way.

http://www.rotg.co.uk/images/btnmaskofdeath.jpgHell Knights were once mighty human warlords whom, upon their deaths made a dark pact with the ruler of the underworld, Charon to grant them a return to the mortal world in exchange for their eternal souls.
Hell Knights bring with them the infernal powers of the pit and are terrible foes.

Hell Knights often empower their weapons with magical properties and with their unique skills they can turn even the humblest weapon into a powerful magic artifact.
Applies a weapon upgrade for free to the weapon item the Hell Knight is carrying. All restrictions on upgrading still apply and using this skill will remove & replace any upgrades the weapon already has on it.
To use this ability you must have an upgradeable weapon in your inventory.

Level 1 : Applies Damage upgrade to weapon grants +12 damage. Requires hero level 1.
Level 2 : Applies Fire upgrade to weapon that causes splash damage and deals +10 bonus damage per attack. Requires hero level 5.
Level 3 : Applies Venom upgrade to weapon grants +5 bonus damage and poisons enemy units dealing 7 damage a second. Requres hero level 9.
Level 4 : Applies Lifesteal upgrade to weapon that steals 30% of your attack damage in life. Requires hero level 13.

Hell Knights only seek to bring death, pain and misery in their new forms and will cleave enemies apart with their huge weapons, sending their souls straight to the underworld as payment in the hope that the Hell Knight can buy more time in the mortal world.
Unleashes a devastating melee strike that turns the target's life force against it. Underworld Strike deals damage equal to a % of the target's current hitpoints +50 bonus damage.

Level 1 : Deals 15% of the target's current hitpoints and +50 bonus damage. Requires hero level 1.

Level 4 : Deals 30% of the target's current hitpoints and +50 bonus damage. Requires hero level 7.

http://www.rotg.co.uk/images/btnfire.jpgFire Walk
Hell Knights have walked upon the plains of the underworld and returned, bringing with them fire, torture and death.
Licks of flame play over their armoured bodies and with a gesture a Hell Knight can ignite the ground around him, causing it to burst into searing flames.
Causes flames to spring up from the Hell Knight's feet, igniting the ground the Hell Knight walks on causing a trail of fire to follow the Hell Knight. The fire trail continuously damages enemy units that walk over it.

Hell Knights have returned from the underworld with many infernal powers and powerful Hell Knights can cause the skies to rain fire and the ground to burn, mimicking the powers of their new master Charon.
Hellfire is a channeling spell that uses fire magic to rain down waves of fire in a 600 radius centered on the Hell Knight that damages nearby enemy units every second that Hellfire is activated.

Skill Build
Level 1= Enchant Weapon
Level 2= Underworld Strike
Level 3= Underworld Strike
Level 4= Divine Blessing
Level 5= Underworld Strike
Level 6= Hellfire
Level 7= Underworld Strike
Level 8= Enchant Weapon
Level 9= Enchant Weapon
Level 10= Divine Blessing
Level 11= Divine Blessing

Level 13= Enchant Weapon
Level 14~17= [Divine Blessing
Level 18= Hellfire
Level 19= Divine Blessing
Level 20= Divine Blessing
Level 21~25= Fire Walk

Skill Build Justification
We take our first level of Enchant Weapon at start because it works out great for farming, then max out Underworld Strike because it's a 'nuke' you can't miss. Really! After that we get max Divine Blessing because I'm just not a big fan of Fire Walk. As a matter of fact, I don't like Hellfire that much neither, It's a great nuke and it's damage can't be forgotten, but being a 'Frontline Melee' hero, Hell Knight really can't afford to channel spells.
But we get it anyway because you never know when it can come in handy (Nets from allies or yourself)

Item Build
Final Items
Halberd - Lifesteal Enchanted
Flesh Armour
Gauntlets of Unholy Power - Strength of Ages Enchanted
Waterwalk Boots
The Black Hand
Titan Orb (Optional)

Final Items Justification
Halberd is a fine weapon for Hell Knight throughout the whole game in my eyes, it gives you a cleave, and the damage provided by Enchant Weapon at the start turns you in a farm-machine right away, which Gauntlet only improves. This part of the build is very cheap which allows you to actually rush towards Flesh Armour. The reason I picked Flesh Armour over Crimson Armour from Steel's guide is because Flesh Armour's Disease Cloud is an actual effect, thus lingers on a enemy as he runs away from you. The hitpoints help you survive better than the extra armor too in most cases.

Item Order
1. Halberd. (750 gold)
2. Gauntlet of Unholy Power and Enchant it. (1200 gold + 50 wood)
3. Leather Armour. (210 gold)
4. Waterwalk Boots. (2000 gold + 150 wood)
5. The Black Hand. (1000 gold)
6. Flesh Armour. (3000 gold + 220 wood)

Your purpose
Suck up as much damage as you can, the massive Cleave with Lifesteal helps you to survive while you and your team kill enemies.

Gameplay

I found fire walk good for creeping early game through.

True but cleave works better and the divine blessing ups your mana pool and armor too (along with hp and damage) so overal I'd prefer that over some dps trail :p
