View Full Version : Argonax Need Spells!!

Personly I found Argonax boring due to lack of ult and spells like other hero in ROTG, so I was hoping to add some special spells for him.

1. Stomp Rush, Argonax start running in a line, crushing those that are foolish enough to stand inflont of him.
Effect: Moves Argonax in a line while dealing damage to those close to him. Cause stomp's effect or other special effect. (Just to look cool)
AI: Cast like normal spell.

2. Hellfire, Argonax summons Hellfire, dealing heavy damage.
Effect: Mark a point in the prison, hellfire spawns in that point after <X> s, dealing heavy damage
AI: Cast once 10S (maybe more/less) during fight.

3.Judgement Punch, Argonax punches a target, dealing damage and knocking back the unit.
Effect: Deals <X> damage to a unit, knocking him back, deals more damage and stop knock back if the target was push into a wall or a solid unit (the solid unit will be knock back a bit and damage too)
AI: Cast when unit is in meele range and CD is over (CD is 30s, maybe more?)

4.Force of the Dead, many brave heros have tried to slay Argonax before, all have fail, Argonax than traps their soul, allow him to release them when needed.
Effect: Summons <number of players> heros to Argonax's aid (the hero type and level is the same as players, but deals half damage and takes 2X damage, can't cast spells)
AI: When Argonax hits half HP.


those are just basic ideas of me, everyone is welcome to post and give other suggestion on what Argonax should have or should not have. If you feel something abrove should be change due to imba/too weak, post here too.

He already got purge\dispel, rain of fire and some other nuke.....

yea, but it's boring spells, while hero got cooler special spells. I think Argonax is worth the cool spells like hero.

I have to agree :p I mean he's the uber uber uber boss-guy..
And effect-wise even Minos is more exciting.

Hye guys, thanks for your comments, creating custom magic for him is something i had wanted to do, but getting the AI to actually cast it is another story!
Depending on what happens with ROTG FFA (I redesigned the entire creepign system and have some new ideas for more exicting baddies and rewards..theres 4 new camps already and over 30 new beasties) I may revise the system in the orginal ROTG and this may include a revision of Argo, depends though, i ahvent been able to find enough players to actually test rotg ffa yet!

+ Working on my own little private project too ( a map yesyes ).

Steel, if your having problem finding time to make the spell/AI, I can help. I am not sure about coding leakless spells, but I can find some (spell 1 and 3 can be found, while spell 2 is easy to make, spell 4 is just court wizard's spell.)

Argonax currently has 15 powers.
Almost all of them are standrad wacrafty abilities with tweaked stats that are so far relativly okay balance wise,
your free to suggest soem spell ideas here but they must be relativly simplistic to activate or the ai will not cast them.

P.s it isnt as simple as you migth expect to get an AI to use an ability, if you force trigger it that requires hundreds of timed loops and condition checks resulting in lag and more code that simply wont fit in the maps filesize,

maybe there's ways to do it easily
e.g, like the hero copying spell, make a dummy spell based on blademaster's spell (can't remember), and use event- a unit casts <dummy spell> action - casts <real spell>
