Steelb_l_ade's Guide to Defeating Titans

- This guide is not written by Steelb_l_ade himself, but a collection of his guides to sum it up a bit.

Table of Content
1. Khieron
2. Erinyes
3. Medusa
4. Minos
5. Hephaestus
6. Charon
7. Hyperion
8. Scyla

- In order of appearance.

Khieron
Khieron is the first and therefore the weakest of the titans but he can still be a tough opponent mainly because he spawns so early on in the game. Rushing to kill Khieron too early on without the proper preparations can lead to a quick defeat as the enemy will be informed if Khieron manages to defeat you and therefore can then attack him when he is injured for an easy victory. Khieron has both Shockwave and Slam and will use them when ganged up upon by multiple melee opponents. A Diamond of Summoning is a very useful item for taking down Khieron as he has no dispel and the wolf can be used to tank very effectively and is immune to both the shockwave and the slam. Before taking Khieron on it is a good idea to have a least one unit to take his attacks possibly equipped with a Healing Potion as he can do a surprising amount of damage and a team of casters can quickly be defeated.

Erinyes
Erinyes can be very difficult to take down with basic attacks because of her great speed and her combinations of Curse/Evasion. As she has virtually unlimited Curses magical protection is no use for countering this. The trick to defeating Erinyes is to have the right combinations of items and abilities. She will flee when under attack and occasionally attack back wearing heroes down that chase her, she will then rejuvenate herself meaning she can be very hard to kill off completely. If not defeated quickly Erinyes can flee halfway across the map luring chasing heroes into creep camps and even the enemy team which can cause havoc. Use cheap expendable units such as Mercenaries/summons or zombies to soak up her initial Finger of Pain blast and then use immobilisation items items such as Storm Hammers, Gladiators Nets and Envenomed Spears to stop her escaping. Wands of Mana Burning are also excellent against Erinyes as it can drain her mana and stop her casting Rejuvenation. Dispel Wands are also very useful for stopping her healing.

Medusa
Medusa can be very easy or very hard to defeat depending on the heroes that you have. She has some very powerful nuking spells that will easily kill a low hitpoint hero so ensure you have something with reasonably high hitpoints or some healing items such as a Holy Sceptre or Healing Potions to soak up her initial blasts. Diamonds of Summoning can work well as the wolves are immune to magic but this means she will focus her magic solely on the attacking heroes making it a double-edged sword.
As soon as Medusa is low on mana she is very vulnerable and can be easily killed by most heroes simply by focusing her down. Disrupters work very well when fighting Medusa as their Mana Burn and Magical Resistance spells are perfect for defeating her.

Minos
Minos is one of the toughest titans to defeat as he will tear low hitpoint heroes apart in moments. High hitpoint slow heroes like the Hill Giant or Burrower will be overcome by his fast attacks and heavy stun rate. They key to defeating Minos is to keep him at range for as long as possible using immobilising spells and items such as Gladiators Nets, Envenomed Spears and Storm Hammers. Summonables are of little help against Minos as he will rip through them too quickly for them to be worth the cost. Items that stun or slow such as Warhammers or weapons with the Bash\Cold Upgrades work well against Minos, as do debuffs and curses such as The Curse of Living Death. Melee heroes will certainly need some kind of powerful healing items to allow them to absorb Mino's attacks for as long as possible while allied ranged heroes and casters hit him with as many powerful spells as possible.

Hephaestus
Hephaestus is a weak titan when compared with some of the others and can be quickly defeated if he can be trapped in a corner or surrounded. Summonables are useless against Hephaestus as he will counter them with Dispel Magic, destroying them instantly. Its is best to fight Hephaestus by using basic attacks to wear him down to half health, waiting for him to use his Avatar skill and then hitting him with a series of powerful nukes after his Avatar skill has expired to finish him off. His Chain\Forked Lightning although they damage multiple targets are less effective when he is first charged by one hero as he will waste them all on a single target, reducing his effectiveness.

Charon
Charon is an undead titan he is vulnerable to anti-undead items such as Holy Sceptres and the Witch Hunters Banishment/Judgement. Charon has Vampiric Aura so ideally you want to immobilise him or keep him at a distance for as long as possible while your fighting him to stop him regaining life. Nuke spells like Ice Blast and Nether Blast are ideal for this but be sure to try and cast them strategically and early as Charon has an area of effect Silence to disable casters. Gladiators nets, Envenomed Spears and Storm Hammers are also useful for keeping him at range and will not be effected by Silence making them ideal for finishing the fight. Melee heroes need to keep their life fairly high and have some form of instant heal as when cornered Charon has the capacity to do lots of damage fast with a high damage Rain of Fire and Finger of Death.

Hyperion
Hyperion's Magic Immunity & Dispel Magic make it very difficult for some heroes (particularly dedicated spellcasters) to defeat him. His Hyperion Spear is capable of doing hundreds of damage in a few seconds and can easily kill off a hero, especially when combined with Finger of Death. It is best to use some kind of expendable or very high health unit to attack Hyperion first and absorb the massive damage from both his main spells. A Greater Healing Potion or allies with Holy Sceptres can heal this damage back and thus negate Hyperion's main attacks. Once his Hyperion Spear and Finger of Death has been cast, heal the damage it causes with the items mentioned above and then simply wear Hyperion down with basic attacks. With some powerful weapons such as the Executioners Axe, Blessed Sword or a Hydra Blade Hyperion shouldn't be too difficult to defeat.

Scyla
Scyla is the strongest of the titans and under any conditions will be a challenge to defeat. Before you enter battle be sure your spells are ready for use and you're stocked up on powerful healing items. Scyla's main strength comes from his powerful lifesteal attack and the trick to defeating him is to simply wear him down in a long drawn out battle. Items that slow or stun are essential for defeating Scyla as they slow his attack rate and therefore his rate of lifestealing.
Summonables such as Marrabesh or Drak'Thul are a great asset when fighting Scyla as you will need to be doing a considerable amount of damage in order to negate his lifesteal/health regeneration. Scyla can be defeated fairly easily if badly outnumbered and if attacking heroes are equipped with healing items. Being as Scyla can only injure a single target at once seek to overwhelm it with weight of numbers using the highest hitpoint units to tank.

And steel should really add slowing/debuffing is really good against scyla, viper spider before the slow stack nerf really owns scyla as it cut it's attack speed by alot.
