Recently, I'm getting more and more annoyed with the threads about
'What is wrong with the forum'
'Why is the forum so cold' etc etc.
So I devoted this thread to, hopefully, explain something.
First of, if you're getting offended by what's written below, don't bother replying ****ty comments because I just don't care.
So focus your energy on something productive.
Okay, here we go!
Let's compare this map to a more 'successful' Hero Arena, Angel Arena Allstars
What does AAA have that RotG doesn't..
Strangely, not much.
Except for worse balance, and very very very long games,
all that it has instead of RotG is stolen heroes from DotA, and anime-based heroes.
Is that something that makes it 'better'? no.
Is that something that makes it 'more successful'? perhaps, since people that watch anime can relate to it.
But that shouldn't be a problem..
RotG is a good map, with good balance and fine gameplay.
However, and sorry for being a critic steel,
the skill descriptions are very long and boring.
it's very unclear what to do for new players.
and that makes it very hard, and don't forget, boring for people to take it up and learn it.
Another thing, there's a small small small choice of heroes, which might scare some people of.
So my suggestion is, introduce some more :) simple as that.
This is in my eyes everything that can be said about the map itself
Now on to the forum, just don't expect too much!
I mean, mainly chenlimin is making these 'why is the forum...' posts, and he doesn't seem to get it.
People just can't be bothered, and forcing them isn't the way.
This forum is to support players of the map who want support.
If they don't want it, fine
if they don't want to make a account to reply at it, fine
it's a pretty blank forum without the HORRIBLE attempts of getting people in.
But, I get the frustration, but just keep it a nice community, people seem to prefer those.
Anyway,
Although it might seem like sucking up,
Steely, thanks for putting effort in this map, I know how dragging it can be to make a big project.
And thanks for, well, paying for a forum where we can talk about nice things :)
