View Full Version : The old issue with the leavers
Can you might ask IceFrog@gmail.com about the code he used in dota? I was the one who send him the whole suggestion and idea background about the switch command for changing teams
OK...here is the idea again
players can enter the command -switch followed by some kind of player number/id with who they want to change the team. All players need to vote then
only if all or all except one vote for OK teams will get changed

You can swap teams in this also, its just accessed through a different way,
by typing "z" or "-commands" you can gain access to the player options menu including the options for refs to takeover leavers and to swap teams.
Thanks for your reply. Is it also possible to exchange with one of the players of the opponent team?
Also, the map behaves (IMHO) somehow weird when changing the game mode (why do i even have to choose how many players participate? Ah, guess cause of the strength of the bosses...? Can't ROTG somehow read out the number of players in each team?), for instance, we were 3 players so I chose 1 vs 1 duell mode, but still all three players were participating.

Yes it is entirly possible to swap with the players on the other team, though they must agree to it. It is also possibel to swap with thier AI but their "livign" players must agree to that.
The "players" in duel mode, i.e 1v1, 2v2 etc has no effect whatsoever and was implemented for a feature that wasnt included, it was simply left in in case any future scaling feature could use the variable.
However in teamplay mode the number of players set si very important!
It determines the strength of the bosses/boss gate/maximum creep spawning levels and a great deal more.
If you set the wrong mode it can be changed in game on the fly however so if u start off with "4v4" and get some leavers it can be scaled up and down. (with the enemies permission)
Therefore if you want a very "easy" team game you can set it to 1v1 mode even if you have 8 people playing, this means the bosses can be solo'd!
Alternativly setting ti to 4v4 or 3v3 mode with only 2-4 players will make the bosses very difficult.
In duel mode the map does detect whos actually playing and maps itself accordingly.
