As I posted on the old forum, I'm offering to teach beginners some basic elements of ROTG.

This will primarily be of use for people who are relativly new to ROTG but nevertheless also for starters that just has a wish to improve their game - no level of skill is required, I'll see how well you play atm, and then we'll work on whatever needs to be improved.

Elements could be like: Hero-picking (which is 'best' to pick at a surtain situation), creeping, what to do in 1on1/mass combats or whatever you wish to have a special look at.

I'm able to host games on BNet which means we'll be able to do it without waiting for random people to show up.

This is of course free of charge and no guarentee that you will own everything after, it's just minor 'lessons' in order to get you going :)

Post in this tread, PM me or whisp me on GunnarStyle or GrevensFejde acc on the Northrend server. Then we'll arrange something :) (I'm most likely to be online on GrevensFejde acc atm)

I'll be able to provide with assistance help if a time can be schedules in this forum. I understand it's harder to coordinate with an extra person, I'm just saying, it is possible that I join as an assistant with insight on the game.

I'm sure, the whole crew is willing to train dedicated players to join this community, and players who can help others get better.

This is an offer for everyone, if you wish to improve, this will speed things up considerably.

Well I host 3-10 games a night on US east or as many as I can do and referee them explaining to new players how to get started etc and work as hard as possible to introduce as many new folks as possible in the time I have.

Tbh,i think it would be more effective if you just took on your own guy.
You seem to play well enough to tell people what they can do better.

"Training" might be the wrong word, as it't meant to be like 1-4 times that I'll sit with a player and guide them on their way. gathering 3 guys just to sit and watch a single player runninng around creeping might be a bit overkill ;)

As Steel mentions he sits throu several games telling several people what to do - which is more than fine, I'll just take it a step further for the really interested people.

Yea, but I'm talking about once a player get past the introduction phase. I'll look at stuff like:

-Creeping paths
-Use of mini map
-Use of waygates
-Use of differences between night/day
-etc

More or less the strategic elements of the game, and not just being able to play it.

I don't get that in depth with them, I just tell them the basics and let them take it where they want from there as I dont have the time to school people individually,

Exactly - I have the time since I don't work on map balance, website update etc etc etc. - That's why I'm offering it to people, who's interested.

XxxX-AberXxxX has shown interest, so gonna start with him soon and if anyone wanna join us, feel free to do so :)

Another opportunity could be, that people interested in just playing the map, could suggest some times a week where we meet in same channel and host a game or more.

Point of this would be something like:

- Playing against someone who doesn't leave after 1min / first death.
- Not having to wait for random DL'ers to fill out the teams or at least not that many as normally.
- Getting feedback from allies & opponents
- Several opportunities to try out the different game modes (if we play the FULL version) and the heroes that are not in the LITE edition.

- no level of skill or experience required as minimum nor maximum ofc.

maybe we should make a clan on US. east?

Could work.. however as we saw with the RotG clan on Northrend - even thou you guys gathered about +50 people in the clan, it (for some reason) was hard getting enou people in the channel for a decent game. (my own experience)

If it's easier on East, then I think it's a really good idea :)

I'm in

Your problem was if you just get random people of course your gonna have a hard time getting a decent game

You want to make sure to get people that are dedicated, and maybe even have some clan standards, I know cause it worked great with our clan

It was hard to get it together, but worth it

As for putting together things to help newbies, I'll help there too, but unfotunately I've found the best teacher is practice and experiance.

what we need is more ppl hosting to create a more active fan base and then that will obviously get more experienced players for a decent game.

u can download the auto refresher of this site and then its a question of patience. usually takes around 10 mins max to get a game started.

the more hosts the merrier ;)

Can you elborate on why this is?
There are many hosting guides and I myself host from behind a router while on a LAN.

Erm, Don't worry about it anyway, when I could host I lagged people incredibly bad.

Why this is? Well gee not everyone has access to hosting guides ya know :P

A link would be good, but only if itll help me know how to not lag other people to death

This does NOT mean telling me to get a better connection, not an option
