The start of the trailor shouldnt be boring ... people will stop watching. I got into rotg from the first trailor.. started off pretty cool with an awesome model cat running around in awesome terrain and then it jumps to action after it shows you around for a little bit. I wanted to stop watching because it starts boring and it stays like that for about a minute! What are you thinking ... first trailor definately better and also the 2 scenes showing real humans makes it look kind of gay. Also it is kind of random with the acolytes.

Wow let's travel through a wormhole and move around the map zoomed out with the camera swaying so we can't see any of the fighting and let's put some random lightning in. WOOT! best trailor eva!!

Gotta love the appreciation, next time I wont bother, attitudes like this cause developers to stop bothering and players having less content for thier games.

You should just quit now, RoTG is extremely unpopular. You are an awesome mapper though ... just not good at trailors ... maybe a new game? Just letting you know and also rotg gets boring after about 30 games so yeah... a new map by you steelb would be great ... rotg = old and boring (mainly because last boss is unbeleivably too easy).

ooh and before I go, maybe some better spells for bosses ... make it an actual challenging game, and lower resources on the ritual .. ooh and make last boss harder.

Rotg would be probably get way more people if it was more widely known
But I can ask just about anyone about Rotg and they go

That's why its "not popular."

I beg to differ, I'm pretty certain everyone but YOU liked the trailor, unless you can tell its popular opinion, ill be blunt with you, don't start acting like it sucks unless everyone else thinks so

Rotg is the culmination of quite a bit of time and effort and Steel isnt going to give it up just because one person gets bored with it

Tips? You act like you understand what is good for the map and what isn't, I believe the only one's who should decide that is steel, steel, and steel.

I know I ranted and raved like a phychotic person sick in the head, but I have very little patience for this sort of thing, I sounded rude, but I'm looking at this from a very cynical perspective, and I'm a cynical person.

Try Doin' it in under an hour or NOT on 1v1 mode? As I recall reading, Argonax is set as he is because you're supposed to try to rush him, not wait for the best gear and max level beforehand :rolleyes:

Like what, exactly? Resources on ritual are fine as-is (and if they're a problem, the solution is to NOT SUCK AND LET THE OTHER TEAM GET IT), and the game's plenty challenging. Or at least it is when 3/4ths of your team either leave or have no idea what they're doin' >.<

I thought the start was pretty cool, and I think the same with the flying bit, but then it starts to get boring after the stargate, it could've done with some slaughter like in the first trailer with the skeletons all dying.

Thats because nothing can top Stargate :D But yea.. mass killing stuff ftw! :D

I don't mean to be a downer, but I preferred the first trailer also. The acolyte part, although epic, just didn't seem to fit with the rest of it. You did have some good ideas with the stargate thing though, but the whole trailer left me wanting more action. (Which maybe isn't so bad, as it makes me want to play the game to get that action.) Anyway, I would suggest not using live people in future trailers, and putting in a bit more actual gameplay video.

the trailer is very well done.

and about the unpopular part, we are doing a lot about it. I am hosting as much as I can (can't host/play too much due to exam coming up X_X).

And it's not really unpopular compared to some maps on B.net, as dota takes up a large chuck of games, it's hard to see any other game a lot on the custom game.

Also you said that the game is boring, it's probly because your playing with newbies, and you can farm till max item/lv and kill last boss easily, but that's not how it works, it's a race.

I had that awhile ago, as I host on a server that NEVER seen rotg b4. When I first start, it was hard, but I did the best I could, welcoming every player who join my game, carefully explain the game to them. After a while, I found people who like this game, and the number starts climbing. In the future, newbies will grow into a pros, and you will have a fun game,a really fun game.

Also things only start heating up after 50 games if you hosting on new server, one day you would be face with a pro, and that day, you would find the fun in ROTG.
